Reforming to be a study-oriented company, the group has to go through three stages.

 

Opening worker school  Training them in their basic skill

Because the stationery trade is a labor-intensive industry, the group employed a lot of low-educated workers in the past, and they had difficulty to operate some simple machines and hadn’t enough knowledge on technology. With the development of industrial technology and production automation of the group, improving the quality of its employees through various training, especially the training on their skills, has been becoming increasingly imperative. Considering the group’s integral improvement, the group set up the school for its employees at the end of 2002 and first referred to itself as the study-oriented company. To new employees, they must join the training on rules and job that made by the group and conducted by professional trainers. The content of training mainly includes the group’s regulation and rules, safety proceeding, propriety, what is more, the humane culture with its own characteristic that needs the employees to understand and study. In addition, the group conducts systematic and professional training to some operators for special positions and machines. For instance, the rubber printing workshop of printing branch sends the most of its workers to take training on printing technology annually and gradually form the study atmosphere of the old teaching the new and the pioneering teaching their followers. The group plans to conduct this kind of training 10 times every year and to assess its statisticians and warehouse supervisors on technology and ability, and to establish the competitive atmosphere that every one must study and work hard through setting up effective competitive system of employing only the outstanding and dismissing the good-for-nothing.

With the increase of competition in our society, to electricians, some workers who repair and maintain machines and those who have special skills such as printing, generally speaking, they live better than the common white-collar. Consequently, pursuing a special skill is becoming the aim of the worker of new generation. The group set up library and provides its employees with a great number of professional books in order to meet the demand of them. Moreover, the group connects with some training companies that provide technical instruction of special jobs and operation for the workers, which makes 540 employees get the job certifications and the number of emergency reduce largely. The group’s training to workers reduces bad deeds conducted by them and makes every branch and workshop in The GuangBo Industry Park clean and order, and makes its employees full of vigor.

In addition, in the process of studying ISO9000 and renewing its version, through accumulating and assimilating knowledge from every link, the group acquires good achievement in some aspects such as management expertise, legal elusion, harmonious development and improves worker’s team sense and creative spirit.

Constructing the base for talented people through improving its workers’ education.

In order to further accelerating and deepening the development of the group, under the circumstance that the 3500 workers of the group have relatively little schooling, the group cooperates with the labor sectors in district and municipality and some colleges that provide preference to those part-time students. To middle-level managers or those who has been working for given years, they can study in college free. To those who agree on GuangBo’s culture and long-term development, they also can get preference in study, to some extent. The measure makes the number of people with high school education who want to study in college increase to about 200. The profession involves economy, accounting and administration, etc. Some training for people with junior school education who are studying in high school also absorbs many people. All of these demonstrate that in the group there is a good environment of study being formed. According the dean Wu, who is in charge of training in the group, though there are 20% of people who has junior college education and above in the group, the people with high education is relatively few in production and marketing sectors. At present, the disadvantages of these departments lie in low education, low ability in self-study and little practice, etc. If the group wants to cultivate its employees who are suitable for the group’s development in culture and can keep up with the rapid development of the group and mix themselves into the environment of the group’s culture, it has to let its workers make up for their shortages at work. Improving the education level of its workers is not only an effective way of its workers study but also of improving the integrated power and image of the group.

Besides, the group also cultivates the comprehensive people for the group’s development through the cooperation with some colleges and universities in NingBo and ZheJiang and through setting up the GuangBo scholarship. The group has reached the agreements with some colleges such as ZheJiang Industrial and Commercial Profession College in cultivating its workers. The leaders of the group say that the group will continue to enlarge and broaden the cooperation and development in profession and the way of study and cultivate excellent workers in all aspects.

 

Deepening management expertise and cultivating talented worker

Furthermore, the GuangBo Import and Export Co, ltd makes full use of various international fair to train its workers and has cultivated a few of excellent workers in marketing.
